What is Boost?

SweTeach Boost is a 10-week program with a focus on speaking and pragmatic grammar studies. We include grammar in vocabulary, reading, and speaking exercises instead of studying it as a separate activity.

A Boost course consists of ten two-hour sessions. Each session is themed and includes new vocabulary, grammar, and many opportunities to sharpen your Swedish speaking skills.

All classes are virtual. We use Zoom and Google Workspace to conduct our classes and give feedback to our students.

No geographic boundaries

One of the benefits of having classes online is that students from all over the globe can participate in our Swedish courses.

Focus on communication

In our classes, we do not use textbooks. Instead, we share a study material centered around conversations and collaborative learning.

Engaging and efficient

We put a lot of effort into creating engaging classes focusing on essential parts of grammar and vocabulary.

Our Boost levels

You might have tried a language app and know a few words, but you want to start your studies from scratch.

In this course, you will learn about:

- Greetings and everyday phrases
- How to introduce yourself
- Numbers, time and daily routines
- Hobbies and free-time activities
- How to order at a café

On this level, you are familiar with the basics of the language and have a vocabulary that includes greetings, clothes, family and daily shopping.

You can introduce yourself in both speaking and writing but cannot yet participate in unprepared conversations.

In this course, you will learn about:

- How to describe things (such as food, activities etc.)
- Everyday situations (visiting the hairdresser, doctor etc.)
- How to order at a restaurant

- Different tenses for speaking about the past, the present and the future

On this level, you have established a Swedish vocabulary and can use different verb tenses to speak about the past, the present and the future.

- Small talk
- How to speak about plans and dreams

- Strategies for understanding and learning
- Linking words and word sequence

- Swedish culture and social codes
- How to give presentations in Swedish
- Debates and arguments

What to know about SweTeach Boost

The course fee is 3199 SEK. The price includes 20 study hours divided into ten sessions, a certificate of participation, and a written personal evaluation of your progress.

How fast you will progress mainly depends on three aspects: starting point, focus, and engagement.

If you are active in class, review the study material, and integrate Swedish into your everyday life, you make good progress after only 20 hours.

We use The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) to create our groups and the content for all our classes.

When signing up for our classes, we ask you to specify your current language level to place you in the right group. If you do not know your current language level, you can use our self-assessment test as guidance.

After each course, we ask our students for feedback. Many of them tell us that our Swedish classes helped them gain confidence, more fluency, and a better understanding of grammar. We are proud of this feedback since our purpose is to encourage communication and pragmatic grammar studies.

But SweTeach is more than professional teachers. We are a small company that cares about each student. Our goal is to create a community where students on different language levels can connect and learn together.

We teach three rounds of SweTeach Boost each year.

Round 1: January-March
Round 2: April-June
Round 3: September-November

Approximately 1-2 months before the start of each course, we open up for applications.

How can I sign up for SweTeach Boost?

The registration period starts about two months before every new round of SweTeach Boost.

We adopt a first-come, first-served basis for all our groups.

When your group is full, we send you a confirmation email.

If your group is not yet filled with students, we will inform you two weeks before the course start.

Late registration

If we have any openings in our groups after the second step, we open up for late registrations.
